Turck BC5-M18-AP4X is a capacitive proximity sensor/switch within the BC...-M18 series, designed to be embeddable. It operates on a supply voltage range of 10-65Vdc, including nominal values of 12Vdc, 24Vdc, and 48Vdc. The sensor features a chrome-plated brass housing and a sensing face made of glass fiber reinforced Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT-GF30-V0), with a PVC cable jacket. It comes pre-wired with a 2m / 6.5ft cable terminated with bare end flying leads. The sensor's shape is an M18 partially threaded barrel, offering a degree of protection rated at IP67. It has a maximum switching frequency of 100Hz and can operate in ambient air temperatures ranging from -25°C to +70°C. The sensor includes 1 x digital output (10-65Vdc; PNP; 200mA max.), with a no-load current consumption of 15mA and a sensing distance of 5mm. It features protection functions against short-circuit (pulsed), overload, and reverse polarity. The control circuit is rated for a current of 200mA / 0.2 A, and it operates in a Normally Open (NO) mode. The thread size is M18.
