Anybus by HMS Networks AB7006-B is a gateway designed for serial communication, falling under the Serial Communicators sub-range. This device serves as a serial communicator/gateway with a configurable protocol for RS-232/422/485, supporting produce/consume or query/response ASCII communications. It can manage up to 31 stations when using RS485/422 and offers a baud rate range of 1.2-57.6kbit/s. The AB7006-B supports various Modbus commands, including reading and writing coils, registers, and more, alongside DF1 services such as integrity checks and diagnostics. It features reverse voltage protection, short circuit protection, and galvanic isolation on the sub-network, with an MTTF of over 550,000 hours. Designed for installation at altitudes up to 2000m, it meets immunity and emission standards for industrial environments, including electrostatic discharge, electromagnetic RF fields, fast transients, surge protection, and RF conducted interference. The device has a plastic housing (ABS/PC), measures H120mm x W27mm x D75mm, and includes multiple connection types such as ControlNet channel connectors, a 9-pin D-sub female connector for serial communication, and a 2-poles plug-in connector for power. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of 0 to +55°C, consumes up to 300mA (24Vdc; max.), and offers protection against reverse voltage and short circuits. The AB7006-B is designed for DIN rail mounting, has an IP20 and NEMA 1 degree of protection, and can operate in environments with up to 95% relative humidity (non-condensing).
