Anybus by HMS Networks AB7028-C is a gateway designed for serial communication, belonging to the Serial Communicators sub-range. This device functions as a serial communicator/gateway with a configurable protocol for RS-232/422/485, supporting produce/consume or query/response ASCII communication. It can connect up to 31 stations using RS485/422 and offers a baud rate range of 1.2-57.6kbit/s. The AB7028-C supports various Modbus commands, including reading and writing coils, registers, and diagnostics, among others, and provides DF1 services such as integrity checks and data reading/writing. It features reverse voltage protection, short circuit protection, and galvanic isolation on the sub-network. The Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) is greater than 550,000 hours at 30°C, and it can be installed at altitudes up to 2000m. Designed for industrial environments, it has immunity to electrostatic discharge, electromagnetic RF fields, fast transients, and surge protection, with specific emission levels. The device includes 6 LED indicators for status monitoring and is powered by a supply voltage of 21.6-26.4Vdc (24Vdc nominal). It measures H120mm x W27mm x D75mm and is housed in a plastic casing made of ABS/PC. Connection options include 2 x RJ45 connectors for Ethernet, 1 x 9-pin D-sub female connector for serial communication, 1 x 2-poles plug-in connector for power, and 1 x RJ11 PC connector. It offers an IP20 NEMA 1 degree of protection and is designed for DIN rail mounting. The AB7028-C operates within an ambient air temperature range of 0 to +55 °C, consumes a maximum of 300mA current at 24Vdc, and can be stored in temperatures ranging from -40 to +85 °C. Humidity tolerance is 0-95% RH, non-condensing.
