Panasonic SF4D-H88-01 is a sensor (Array) designed for compact and robust hand-protection with intrinsic safety features, achieving safety levels of PL e / SIL3. It incorporates a light curtain sensor with an interference prevention function, external device monitoring capability using an 8-core or 12-core cable, and an interlock function that supports both manual and auto reset. An override function is also available with the 12-core cable. The housing is made of aluminium, while the sensing surface is constructed from polycarbonate resin and stainless steel SUS304, with nylon used for the upper and lower cap. It comes pre-equipped with a connector for ease of installation. The sensor operates within an ambient air temperature range of -10 to +55°C and is rated with a degree of protection of IP67. It offers a protective height of 1750 mm and includes 2 x digital outputs (Selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 60-200mA) for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2, and 1 x digital output (Selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 100mA). The sensing distance ranges from 20cm to 9m in long mode, and from 80cm to 15m, translating to 0.656-29.528ft and 2.625-49.213ft respectively. The current consumption is 120mA / 0.12 A for the emitter and 160mA / 0.16 A for the receiver. It utilizes infrared (IR) light with a wavelength of 850 nm and can detect objects as small as 25mm or 0.984 inches.
