Panasonic SF4D-A36 is a sensor array designed for compact and robust arm/foot-protection with intrinsic safety features, achieving safety levels of PL e / SIL3. It includes an interference prevention function, external device monitoring capability compatible with 8-core / 12-core cables, an interlock function with manual or auto reset options, an override function specific to the 12-core cable, and a fixed blanking function. The housing is made of aluminum, while the sensing surface is constructed from polycarbonate resin and stainless steel SUS304, with nylon used for the upper and lower caps. This sensor comes pre-equipped with a connector for ease of installation. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -10 to +55°C and is rated with a degree of protection of IP67. The net height, indicating the protective height, is 1430 mm. It features 2 x digital outputs for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2, selectable between NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 60-200mA, and 1 x digital output, selectable between NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 100mA. The sensing distance ranges from 20cm to 9m in long mode, equivalent to 0.656 to 29.528 feet, and from 80cm to 15m, or 2.625 to 49.213 feet in long mode. The current consumption is 110mA / 0.11 A for the emitter and 150mA / 0.15 A for the receiver. It utilizes infrared (IR) light with a wavelength of 850 nm and can detect objects as small as 45mm or 1.772 inches.
