Panasonic SF4D-A32 is a compact and robust arm/foot-protection intrinsically safe / safety light curtain sensor designed for a variety of safety applications. It features an interference prevention function, external device monitoring capability using an 8-core or 12-core cable, an interlock function with manual or auto reset options, an override function available with a 12-core cable, and a fixed blanking function. The housing is made of aluminum, while the sensing surface is constructed from polycarbonate resin and stainless steel SUS304, with nylon used for the upper and lower caps. This sensor comes pre-equipped with a connector for ease of installation. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -10 to +55°C and offers a degree of protection rated at IP67. The protective height of the sensor is 1270 mm, and it includes two digital outputs (selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 60-200mA) for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2, and one digital output (selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 100mA). The sensing distance ranges from 20cm to 9m in long mode, and from 80cm to 15m, translating to 0.656 to 29.528 feet in long mode and 2.625 to 49.213 feet. The current consumption is 100mA / 0.1 A for the emitter and 140mA / 0.14 A for the receiver. It utilizes infrared (IR) light with a wavelength of 850 nm and can detect objects as small as 45mm or 1.772 inches.
