Panasonic SF4D-A18 is a compact and robust arm/foot-protection intrinsically safe / safety light curtain sensor designed for a variety of safety applications. It features an interference prevention function, external device monitoring function compatible with 8-core / 12-core cables, an interlock function with manual or auto reset options, an override function available with a 12-core cable, and a fixed blanking function. The housing is made of aluminum, while the sensing surface is constructed from polycarbonate resin and stainless steel SUS304, with nylon used for the upper and lower caps. This sensor comes pre-equipped with a connector for easy installation. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -10 to +55°C and offers a degree of protection rated at IP67. The net height of the sensor, indicating its protective height, is 710 mm. It provides 2 x digital outputs (Selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 60-200mA) for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2 and 1 x digital output (Selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 100mA). The sensing distance ranges from 20cm to 9m in long mode, equivalent to 0.656 to 29.528 feet, and from 80cm to 15m, or 2.625 to 49.213 feet, in long mode. The current consumption for the emitter is 100mA / 0.1 A. It utilizes infrared (IR) light with a wavelength of 850 nm and can detect objects as small as 45mm or 1.772 inches.
