Panasonic SF4B-H16C is a sensor array designed for hand-protection and intrinsically safe applications, meeting safety standards of Category 4 / PL e / SIL3. It features a light curtain sensor with an emission halt function, external device monitoring, ELCA function for reduced mutual interference, interlock with manual or auto reset, an override function through a 12-core cable, and a large multi-purpose indicator for muting settings. The housing is made of polycarbonate, and it comes pre-wired with a 5m 8-core 0.15mm2 heat-resistant PVC cable ending in bare end flying leads. This sensor offers a protective height of 343.4 mm and an IP65 degree of protection against dust and water. It supports a sensing distance of 0.3m to 7m and has two digital outputs for safety (OSSD1+OSSD2) and one additional digital output, all selectable between NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc, with the safety outputs supporting 60-200mA and the additional output supporting 100mA. The current consumption is 65mA for the emitter and 75mA for the receiver, utilizing infrared light with a wavelength of 850 nm. It can detect objects as small as 25mm and includes output short-circuit protection, with response times of 80ms to 90ms for ON and 14ms for OFF.
