Panasonic SF4B-A32C is a sensor array designed for arm/foot-protection with intrinsic safety features, suitable for applications requiring Category 4 / PL e / SIL3 safety levels. It incorporates a light curtain sensor with an emission halt function, external device monitoring, ELCA function for reduced mutual interference, interlock with manual/auto reset, an override function through a 12-core cable, and a large multi-purpose indicator for muting settings. The housing is made from polycarbonate, ensuring durability within its operational environment. This model is pre-wired with a 5m 8-core 0.15mm2 heat-resistant PVC cable, ending in bare flying leads for connectivity, and offers a protective height of 1303.4 mm. It features an IP65 degree of protection against dust and water ingress. The SF4B-A32C operates within a sensing distance of 0.3m to 7m and has a current consumption of 75mA for the emitter and 95mA for the receiver. It utilizes infrared light with a wavelength of 850 nm for detection, capable of identifying objects as small as 45mm. The sensor provides two digital outputs for safety (OSSD1+OSSD2) and one additional digital output, all selectable between NPN/PNP open-collector, supporting 24Vdc with varying current capacities. It includes output short-circuit protection and offers response times of 80ms to 90ms for ON and 14ms for OFF operations.
