Panasonic SF4B-A12C is a sensor array designed for arm/foot-protection with intrinsic safety features suitable for Category 4 / PL e / SIL3 applications. It includes a light curtain sensor with an emission halt function, external device monitoring, ELCA function for reducing mutual interference, interlock function with manual or auto reset, override function through a 12-core cable, and a large multi-purpose indicator for muting settings. The housing is made of polycarbonate, and it comes pre-wired with a 5m 8-core 0.15mm2 heat-resistant PVC cable terminated with bare end flying leads. It offers a degree of protection rated at IP65, with a protective height of 503.4 mm. The sensor features 2 x digital outputs for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2 and 1 x digital output, all selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc with varying current capacities. It operates within a sensing distance of 0.3m to 7m and has a current consumption of 60mA for the emitter and 70mA for the receiver. The light color is infrared (IR), with a wavelength of 850 nm, and it can detect objects as small as 45mm. It includes output short-circuit protection and has a response time of 80ms to 90ms for ON and 14ms for OFF.
