AB7008-B Description
Anybus by HMS Networks AB7008-B is a gateway designed for serial communication, part of the Serial Communicators sub-range. It functions as a serial communicator/gateway with configurable RS-232/422/485 protocols for produce/consume or query/response ASCII communications. It supports a maximum of 31 stations when using RS485/422 and offers a baud rate range of 1.2-57.6kbit/s. The device is compatible with various Modbus commands and DF1 services, including reading and writing coils, registers, diagnostics, and data integrity checks. It features reverse voltage protection, short circuit protection, and galvanic isolation on the sub-network. The Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) is greater than 550,000 hours at 30°C. Designed for installation at altitudes up to 2000m, it meets immunity and emission standards for industrial environments, including electrostatic discharge, electromagnetic RF fields, fast transients, surge protection, and RF conducted interference. The AB7008-B has a plastic housing made of ABS/PC, measures H120mm x W27mm x D75mm, and offers various connection types including a 5-pin plug-in connector for CC-Link, a 9-pin D-sub female connector for serial communication, a 2-poles plug-in connector for power, and an RJ11 PC connector. It is IP20 and NEMA 1 rated, supports DIN rail mounting, and operates within an ambient air temperature range of 0 to +55°C. The device consumes a maximum of 300mA at 24Vdc and typically 100mA. It is designed for use with CC-Link, RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 communication protocols, supports a speed of 125kbit/s to 10Mbit/s for CC-Link, and can operate in environments with 0-95% relative humidity, non-condensing.
