Pilz PILZ-6D000020 is a safety laser scanner designed for industrial automation safety applications. It features the capability to have 2 safety zones and 1 warning zone active simultaneously, with up to 10 configurable zone sets. This unit allows for the monitoring of 1 safety zone and 2 zones in total at any given time, with the ability to switch between 10 zone sets. It supports a maximum of 16 multiple evaluations and can detect a remission area ranging from 1.8 to 1000%. The scanner operates with a pulse duration of 3ns and a typical output power of 8mW. Up to 4 safety laser scanners can be connected in series, comprising 1 master and 3 peripherals. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of 0 to +50°C and has a net height of 152 mm. Designed as a peripheral unit, it features a light spot diameter of 8mm on the front plate and utilizes a 4-pin M12 connector for Ethernet communication, supporting speeds up to 100Mbit/s. The device is protected by an IP65-rated aluminium housing with a PC top and a PMMA front screen, ensuring durability in various environments. It requires a supply voltage of 19.2-30Vdc, with 24Vdc nominal. The sensing distance varies based on resolution, ranging from 2.5m to 40m for safety and warning zones, respectively. The scanner has a net width of 102 mm and a net depth of 112.5 mm. It operates at a wavelength of 905 nm and can be stored in temperatures ranging from -20 to +70°C. The device includes 2 x digital outputs (OSSD semiconductor) and 1 x digital output (configurable input/output), alongside 4 x digital inputs. It offers various resolutions for detection capability, a maximum scan area opening angle of 275 degrees, and operates with a response time as low as 62ms. The device also features a switch-on delay of 120s and a processing time of 300µs for safety output.
