Pilz PILZ-632228 is a safety light curtain designed for hand protection, capable of detecting opaque objects as small as 30mm. This robust type emitter part, belonging to the PSEN opII3H sub-range, operates within an ambient air temperature range of -10 to +60 °C and offers a protective height of 1500mm. It features a 5-pin M12 connector for both the emitter and receiver, ensuring a secure connection. The device is housed in aluminium with zinc end caps and a PC front screen, measuring 1504mm in height, 35mm in width, and 40mm in depth. It operates on a supply voltage of 18-28.8Vdc, with a nominal 24Vdc, and has a maximum power consumption of 1.5W for the emitter and 2.5W for the receiver without load. The PILZ-632228 can communicate over distances from 0.2m to 18m, utilizing infrared LED light with a wavelength of 850 nm. It is IP65 rated, indicating protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. The unit also features two digital outputs (100mA) for the receiver (OSSD outputs), a response time of 11ms with beam coding, and a resolution of 30mm for hand protection. The maximum cable length supported is 50m, and it can be stored in temperatures ranging from -25 to +70 °C.
