Panasonic SF4B-H96C is a sensor array designed for hand-protection and intrinsically safe applications, meeting safety standards of Category 4 / PL e / SIL3. It features a light curtain sensor with an emission halt function, external device monitoring, ELCA function for reduced mutual interference, interlock with manual or auto reset, an override function through a 12-core cable, and a large multi-purpose indicator for muting settings. The housing is made of polycarbonate, and it comes pre-wired with a 5m 8-core 0.15mm2 heat-resistant PVC cable with bare end flying leads. This sensor offers a degree of protection of IP65, with a net height of 1943.4 mm for the protective height. It includes 2 x digital outputs for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2 and 1 x digital output, all selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc, with current ratings of 60-200mA and 100mA respectively. The sensing distance ranges from 0.3m to 7m, with a current consumption of 105mA for the emitter and 145mA for the receiver. It operates with infrared light at a wavelength of 850 nm, can detect objects as small as 25mm, and is equipped with outputs short-circuit protection. The response time is 80ms to 90ms for ON and 14ms for OFF.
