Pilz PILZ-402240 is a key switch designed with an electronic selector switch and an LED status indicator. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -20 to +60°C and has a net height of 55 mm. The design features a key with digits and pictograms for machine tool applications, offering 5 operating modes and 0x1111 coding type with a battery-free transponder. It supports both plug-in/detachable spring-loaded terminal connections and plug-in/detachable screw terminal connections, ensuring versatility in installation. The part is protected to a degree of IP65 and requires a supply voltage of 20.4-26.4Vdc (24Vdc nominal) with a frequency of 125kHz for the passive transponder. The front housing is made of ABS material, and the bottom is ST/10μ Zn, accommodating a maximum cable length of 1000m with a 9mm stripping length for spring-loaded terminal connection. Its net width and depth are 98 mm and 43 mm, respectively. The cross-section compatibility ranges from 0.25 to 1.5mm2 / 28AWG to 16AWG for screw terminal conditions and 0.2 to 2.5mm2 / 24AWG to 12AWG for spring-loaded connections. It features a 5mm operating distance for sensing, and can be stored in temperatures ranging from -20 to +70°C. The device includes 13 x positive-switching 1-pole semiconductor outputs (24Vdc; 50mA; 9W) with specific signal levels for "on" and "off" states, 3 x digital inputs (24Vdc; 2mA) with defined signal levels, and response times varying from 20ms to 5s depending on the function. The rated impulse voltage is 0.8 kV, with a rated insulation voltage of 60 V, and it incorporates a 1s time delay after supply voltage application.
