BC5-S18-RP4X Description

Turck BC5-S18-RP4X is a capacitive proximity sensor/switch that falls under the BC...-S18 series. This embeddable design sensor operates with a supply voltage range of 10-65Vdc, including nominal values of 12Vdc, 24Vdc, and 48Vdc. It features a housing and sensing face made of PA12-GF30 (glass fiber reinforced Polyamide) and a PVC cable jacket for its pre-wired 2m / 6.5ft cable that terminates with bare end flying leads. The sensor takes the shape of an M18 partially threaded barrel and offers a degree of protection rated at IP67. It has a maximum switching frequency of 100Hz and can operate within an ambient air temperature range of -25°C to +70°C. The BC5-S18-RP4X is equipped with one digital output (10-65Vdc; PNP; 200mA max.) and has a no-load current consumption of 15mA. Its sensing distance is 5mm, and it includes protection functions against short-circuit (pulsed), overload, and reverse polarity. The thread size is M18, and it operates in a Normally Closed (NC) mode.
