SF4D-A48-01 Panasonic Safety Light Curtains

Panasonic SF4D-A48-01 is a sensor array designed for compact and robust arm/foot-protection with intrinsic safety features, achieving safety levels of PL e / SIL3. It incorporates a light curtain sensor with an interference prevention function, external device monitoring capability using an 8-core or 12-core cable, and an interlock function with both manual and auto reset options. An override function is available with the 12-core cable. The housing is made of aluminium, while the sensing surface is constructed from polycarbonate resin and stainless steel SUS304, with nylon used for the upper and lower caps. This sensor comes pre-equipped with a connector for ease of installation and boasts an IP67 degree of protection against dust and water ingress. It offers a protective height of 1910 mm and includes two digital outputs (selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 60-200mA) for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2, and one digital output (selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 100mA). The sensing distance ranges from 20cm to 9m in long mode, and from 80cm to 15m, translating to 0.656-29.528ft and 2.625-49.213ft respectively. The current consumption is 110mA (0.11 A) for the emitter and 160mA (0.16 A) for the receiver. It utilizes infrared (IR) light with a wavelength of 850 nm and can detect objects as small as 45mm (1.772 inches).
