Turck RI-10SA1S0-4B4096-10MIL/N24/N40 is a compact incremental rotary encoder designed for 2.5" motor flange mounting. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -40 to +85°C and features a solid shaft with a special pin configuration and waveform for optical sensing. This encoder is pre-equipped with a radial 10-pin MS MIL-Spec male connector for connectivity. It belongs to the Type RI-10 series and has dimensions including a 2" casing diameter, a 3/8" shaft diameter, and a 7/8" shaft length. With an IP67 degree of protection, it is suitable for demanding environments. The supply voltage ranges from 5Vdc to 30Vdc, supporting 6Vdc, 12Vdc, and 24Vdc systems. It can achieve a maximum pulse frequency of 300kHz, equivalent to 4395rpm, and is constructed from die-cast metal with stainless steel components for the shaft, disc table, and packing ring. Communication is facilitated via an RS-422 protocol, and it features one digital output compatible with RS422 pulse output and TTL, supporting 5Vdc to 30Vdc. Protection functions include short-circuit, bearing lock, magnetic field proof, and reverse polarity safeguards. The encoder's mechanical limit for rotational speed is 6000rpm, with a moment of inertia at 1.8 x 10-6kg.m2. It offers a resolution of 4096 pulses per revolution and consumes 40mA of current with no load. The maximum radial and axial loads are 80 N and 40 N, respectively.
