RI-10S12C-4A1024-12M23 Description

Turck RI-10S12C-4A1024-12M23 is a compact incremental rotary encoder designed for 58mm clamping flange mounting. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -40 to +85°C and features a solid shaft clamping flange with optical sensing. This encoder is pre-equipped with a radial 12-pin M23 Multifast male connector and belongs to the Type RI-10 series. It has dimensions including a 2" casing diameter, a 12mm shaft diameter (D12mm), and a 20mm shaft length (L20mm), with a degree of protection rated at IP67. The supply voltage required is 5Vdc, and it can handle a frequency of up to 300kHz pulse frequency. The material composition includes a die-cast metal housing, stainless steel shaft, disc table, and packing ring. It utilizes the RS-422 communication protocol and has 1 x digital output (RS422 output with inverting signal; 5Vdc). Protection functions include short-circuit, bearing lock, magnetic field proof, and reverse polarity. The maximum rotational speed is 6000rpm, with a moment of inertia of 1.8 x 10-6kg.m2, and a resolution of 1024ppr (pulses/revolution). Its current consumption is 40mA with no load, and it can withstand a maximum radial load of 80 N and a maximum axial load of 40 N.
