Turck RI-05I8E-4A1024-H1181 is an incremental rotary encoder designed for compact applications, featuring a 19mm flex mount (slotted) flange mounting and a through hollow shaft flange with slotted flex mount magnetic sensing. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -20 to +85°C and is pre-equipped with a radial 8-pin M12 Eurofast QD male connector. This encoder, part of the Type RI-05 series, has a 36mm casing diameter and offers an IP50 degree of protection. It requires a 5Vdc supply voltage and supports a 300kHz pulse frequency. The housing is made of chromated aluminium with a brass shaft and PVC cable, ensuring durability. It utilizes the RS-422 communication protocol and features a bore size of 8mm. The encoder provides a single digital output (RS422 output with inverting signal; 5Vdc) and includes protection functions against short-circuit, magnetic field, and reverse polarity. It can handle a rotational speed of up to 6000rpm, with a moment of inertia of 0.2 x 10-6kg.m2 and a resolution of 1024ppr (pulses/revolution). The current consumption is 40mA with no load, and it can withstand a maximum radial load of 40 N and a maximum axial load of 20 N.
